Lohan Qigong: Strengthing Tendon & Bone, by Richard Rogachevsky, DC, LAc

The origin of Qigong can be traced to China, as far back as 2,500 B.C., where it has been widely practiced due to its therapeutic and rejuvenating properties.

The word Qigong is an amalgam of the word “Gong”, which means to cultivate; and, of the word “Qi”, which means to activate the body’s mental and physiologic activities.

This slow and flowing exercise is designed to open and close the acupuncture meridians, in order to increase and regulate the flow of ‘Blood & Qi’ & throughout the body, and thereby restore the health of joints and internal organs.

The energizing effect of this exercise on the body’s physiology cleanses body tissues; strengthens internal organs, muscles and joints; and, furthers the integration of body systems.

As a result, this exercise can help promote the repair of damaged tissues caused by injuries or disease; resist sickness, and prevent re-injuries; improve mental relaxation and acuity; and, increase postural awareness, endurance, and longevity.

Dr. Richard has been certified by Grand-Master Chen Yong Fa as an instructor in his "Lohan Qigong System”, which is based on the “Tendon Strengthening and Bone Marrow Cleansing Qigong” developed by Bodidharma – who is credited for introducing Buddhism into China and Japan.

Dr. Richard teaches a set of Qigong exercises that he has distilled from his training – please call our office to sign up for a class.
